We Are Counselors

The 2008 NCCA Conference "Professional Counseling: Best Practices" was an outstanding learning and networking experience. Conference participants had the privilege of hearing from Virginia Tech presenters about working together to promote healing. Dr. Jane Myers spoke on the components of wellness. Dr. Sam Gladding discussed the efforts of the American Counseling Association to strengthen the counseling profession. His suggestion: remove adjectives in front of "counselor." This identifies counselors as do other professions, eg, attorney, physician.
