Career Services: Asst. Director of Career Services for the School of Communication, Elon University Career Center

Responsibilities: As part of its strategic plan, Elon University is implementing a dynamic and creative career services program focused on teaching students professional life/career management skills and preparing them for securing and successfully navigating internship experiences, first jobs after college, and later career opportunities. Responsibilities include implementing programs to prepare students for the job search process, supporting students as they prepare professional portfolios and conduct employment searches, expanding relationships with employers, and tracking the placement and careers of Communications graduates. This position is housed in Elon's School of Communications, nationally accredited by ACEJMC, with 900 undergraduate students majoring in journalism, broadcast and news media, corporate communications, and cinema. The coordinator will work closely with other staff members in Career Services and the school's director of internships.

Qualifications: Master's degree, excellent communication, facilitation, mentoring, and computer skills, and three or more years of communications or journalism related work experience. The successful candidate will have an understanding of career development, job search strategies, job market trends, and employer relations and be able to work collaboratively with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and employers.
